Location: Detroit, MI
Salary Range: $74,000.00-$84,000.00
We are looking for a detail‑oriented Buyer to support the procurement of materials, components, and services for our manufacturing and product development teams. This role ensures timely delivery, cost-effective sourcing, and strong supplier coordination in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.

What You’ll Do
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders while maintaining accurate records in the ERP system
- Monitor delivery schedules and work with suppliers to resolve delays, shortages, or quality concerns
- Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure materials meet specifications
- Support supplier performance tracking and assist with improvement initiatives
- Maintain procurement documentation, pricing information, and vendor files
- Assist with cost‑reduction, value‑engineering, and process improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with applicable manufacturing and regulatory requirements (ITAR, AS9100, etc.)
- Stay up to date on material availability and market trends to help mitigate sourcing risks
- Perform other related procurement duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (manufacturing or defense/aerospace preferred)
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, and basic contract negotiation
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel required)
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience (manufacturing experience a plus)
